Punjab: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said on Tuesday that the NDA at the Centre. The state government will soon bring a resolution in the assembly to oppose the ‘Agneepath’ scheme proposed by the government.
Agnipath Scheme: Is Irrational
Responding to the issue raised by Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa during Zero Hour, the Chief Minister said, “Agneepath scheme is an irrational and unfair move of the NDA Government which will destroy the basic character of the Indian Army. ”
Baseless Step by Government
Chief Minister said ” this is another baseless step by the government to ruin the future of the youth of the country. He said that except the BJP leaders, no one could understand the merits of schemes like demonetisation, GST, strict agricultural laws etc. He said that ‘Agneepath’ is also such a baseless move, which no one can understand. Bhagwant Mann said that it is very unfortunate and unbelievable that a young man would join the army after the age of 17 years and would be decommissioned only after four years at the age of 21.”
‘Agneepath’ scheme shows the pathetic condition of the country
The Chief Minister said that it is sad that a young man who serves the country in his youth, will not get any pension or any other benefit in return for this service. Bhagwant Mann said that it is a great loss for the youth of the country who want to serve their motherland by joining the armed forces on the basis of their physical ability. He said that the ‘Agneepath’ scheme shows the pathetic condition of the country, as the ruling party at the Center is doing its work without thinking.
Injustice to the youth
The Chief Minister said that this is a grave injustice to the youth of the country which is not acceptable at any cost. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government strongly opposes this foolish step of the central government and a proposal to oppose it will be brought very soon. He sought the cooperation of all parties to oppose this move with full force to secure the future of the youth.
